It is usually divided into: Personal CoachingPersonal Coaching concentrates on individuals and their personal and work lives.
Executive, Entrepreneurial and Business CoachingEntrepreneurial, Executive and Business Coaching is directed at the individuals who lead businesses and other organizations.
Why Do I Need A Coach? Are you “stuck” in some aspect of your work, business or personal life? Coaching is a way to get you “unstuck”.
There’s an old saying: “If you keep on doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep getting what you’ve always got.” Coaches help you to do new things that actually work. They help you take new actions and choose a new path to get the things out of life that you want. They set a program in place so that, working as a team, you can achieve your goals even if they have eluded you in the past. Specific actions are chosen along the way that will help you break through whatever barriers stand between you and the goals you have chosen, even if you have previously tried on your own but have failed to reach your goals.
Notice that you work with your coach as a team. The coach is there to guide and support you throughout your journey. Your goals become your coach’s goals. The coach is also there to hold you accountable for your actions and to put you back on track when you stray from your chosen path. The Personal Coach works with your personal or work life in the same way a Personal Trainer works with your body.
Coaches have their own individual specialties and styles. Two well-known coaches, Dr. Phil McGraw and Anthony Robbins, have very different styles but each is very effective in their areas of practice or specialties and both get results. Coaching is meant to produce results in a short period of time and is not designed to go on indefinitely. Therapy can last for years; coaching typically lasts only a few months, but can be even shorter in many cases. Albert Overman’s Areas of Life Coaching Specialty
